haircut!!!!!!!!!!
I got my haircut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i went to a hair shop in town that is run by a friend of Eunice's. Eunice was already there, starting the agonizingly long perm process. Esther came with me, along with Esther's daughter, Erin.
A note on Koreans and perms: i had no idea that it was so common, but most korean women seem to get perms on a regular basis. because their hair is so straight, a perm gives them less curl than i have naturally. but, whatever, to each her own.
but, saying that, because their perms took about 6 hours and my haircut took about 36 minutes, i had a lot of time to wander around in town on saturday.
so, i went to my favorite coffee place (feel espresso), i played with the puppies in the hairshop (yes, real live pups), i wandered the streets (thankfully, it was an open market day) and then, finally i got my haircut.
after everyone finished, we went out for a late lunch in town (joined by esther's husband and son) yummy korean food that is cooked right at the table: chicken, sweet potato, rice cake and cabbage...delicious. plus, the place had the coolest floor, textured with broken glass bottles.
